Things are very chaotic around here. A friend of mine leant me your child training seminar tapes, because I was interested in it. I have had them for a few months now, and I just started listening to them yesterday. I am so convicted. I thought that I was mostly listening for help with the twins, but I realize that my 12yr. old fits many of your profiles as well. I am sorry to admit it, but I do operate a child-run home. People are always telling us what wonderful, well-mannered, well-behaved children we have, but I have thought that they just don't know, and that is not enough!! I have known of many of the principles that you mention in your teaching since my oldest was very small, but I have not been consistent. I see how very wrong that has been! I realize that this child training job is not optional, but a command. I have much retraining to do. I am just thankful that the Lord has revealed these things to me before it was too late, even though I know it will take A LOT of hard work, especially with the 12 yr. old. The twins are still young, so hopefully it won't be as hard with them. Even though the oldest is a very responsible, compliant child, I want him to have consistency and harmony modeled for him before he leaves the nest. I am so thankful that your tapes put "it" all together in one place. I have a lot of dying to my own self to do in order to properly train these precious souls. Thank you for your ministry. I thought, "Oh my gosh! This woman must have undercover cameras in my home! (And my heart and mind too!)" I was extremely encouraged to say the least. My oldest child is a boy and named Nathaniel as well. He could almost be described as an emotional basket case (pretty obedient but a basket case nevertheless.) But a couple of months ago the Lord showed us that he had a bruised heart from a mommy who had just plain and simply been too hard on him as a toddler and pre-schooler. Since that time, if I showed any irritation to him, he'd truly "fall-apart." A couple of months ago, we started praying for him (and with him) that Jesus would "bind-up his broken heart". What a different child we have. (He's 7 years old.) In the meantime, God is doing big things with his mommy too! God is delivering me of a lot of sinful "hang-ups" which is the true root of my frustration with the kids (we have 3.) I've also started reading the "Heart of Anger" by Lou Priolo, which has been a tremendous help. I want to thank you Beverly for being so transparent with us. I can say that I left the conference resolved (spurred by the cleansing conviction of God) to model true, Christ-like love to my children. I wish I could give you a hug! the NCHE conference in Winston Salem, NC in May. We
enjoyed both of you so much and found so much support and
encouragement . We appreciate your ministry!! I am currently a student at Florida
Baptist Theological College and have a great burden for
marriages and families. I found you through the Growing
Families International homepage. I have facilitated the
various classes of the Ezzo's for several years in
Washington State prior to moving to Florida. I was
especially interested in the courtship material as that
is what my wife and I plan on leading ours daughters
through. We have "kissed dating goodbye".
Thanks for the information from your page. I plan on
adding it to my favorites. We attended several of your
conferences in Winston-Salem in May. We bought some of

visiting my home with her two children. She was in a
mighty power struggle with her son (5). He was not
respectful, always whining and never ate what was put on
his plate. After the second day she asked me in a quiet
voice for some help. My four children had not been
perfect angles but there was an obedience that she
noticed and wanted to know how to get her son to mind her
commands. I didn't try to tell her too much- but I did
allow her to take my copy of Child Training Tips. I just
heard back from her. She is very thankful and says that
it has made her home so peaceful. But she can't find the
book in the Christian Book store. She wants her own copy
and another to give as gift at her friend's baby shower.

Ministries Web Page. If you have any suggestions please
contact me. I am attempting to locate a list of proper dating
techniques for a christian couple. I attended a
single-parent conference in Jacksonville, Fl., and
received a magazine that listed 8 or so
"accepted" steps. The literature that I
received was but one piece of information that I returned
home with after the conference. I can not locate this
particular magazine or recall the name of it (although I
seem to have every other piece of reading material from
this one day conference). I remember that it began with:
1) noticing a prospective partner. 2) making eye contact.
I can not recall much of what came next. I do remember
that stroking the other's hair as another step, and that
no contact below the waist was accepted before marriage.
I am now in a relationship with a wonderful woman (we are
both in our late 30's), and I desire to keep my actions
within God's plan for courtship. I tend to believe that
the article was geared towards instructing young adults
in the dating ritual. If you have any information

others, I have not dated since the divorce and do not
care to. I would like to marry again someday -- but only
after a biblical courtship. My parents are not born-again
believers and are not willing to consider the concept of
helping me in a courtship relationship. They believe
dating is an acceptable means of meeting someone since
that is how they met (in the 1940's -- a different era).
My career and job situation have now taken me far from my
parent's home and care and, shortly, will take me even
farther away than I am presently. All of the information
I have read about courtship is addressed to parents and
to teenagers and people who have not yet left their
parent's home or care. Have you ever known of anyone with
a background similar to mine building a courtship
relationship? How can it work? Do you have practical
suggestions? I ask because if I am wondering, perhaps
others in my situation (men and women alike) are
wondering also. We, too, want to be true to the Lord, and
know the pain that comes from not following His Word.
